Cooking with THRIVE - Breakfast Burritos
This morning it was on to trying the Scrambled Egg Powder. I decided to make breakfast burritos. My sausage crumbles were a bit old. Other than that, it was really good, and I'd make them again! This recipe makes enough for 5 people. The recipe states 8, but they must be really skimpy helpings. I'm trying to watch my weight right now, so I didn't add the cheese or the tortilla, but that would've been delish!
Breakfast Burritos, by Chef Todd
Took me about 5-8 minutes to make and prep! Wow! Loving this! -Cami

Cooking with THRIVE - Chicken and Rice Yumminess!
Here is my plan...I want to cook with THRIVE foods for one week, at least one meal a day, if not more. One of the Platinums at Convention mentioned that she only ate from her THRIVE home store for, I think, one month. She wanted to see if she really could live off of it, and she wanted to be able to tell her customers that the food really could be used on a daily basis. She didn't want to tell them something she didn't really know or believe. So she did this little experiment. I don't think I could do a month, but I can do a week, and I can do one meal a week. What about you? I would challenge you to give it a try! I was doing my PATH homework the other night and it asked me to start cooking with THRIVE. Now, I do cook with THRIVE, but it's not everyday. It's usually when I'm missing an ingredient to a recipe and don't want to run to the store. However, I've resolved that if I'm going to tell my customers to do it, I'm going to do it more often too. Thus my experiment!
On tonight's menu is this little ditty:
Chicken and Rice, by CT...AKA Chef Todd.
I chose it because it had the new seasonings and Veloute sauce in it. I wanted to give those a try! I rate it a perfect 10 because it was so easy to make and it tasted wonderful. I'd have to say that the new seasonings are turning out to be some of my favorite things! They make everything taste so fresh! This recipe has the Italian Seasoning and the Chef's Choice. LOVE!!!

| Can you believe that this is all I had to do to make this great dinner? |
I did a few things differently than the recipe called for. I didn't incorporate the rice. I don't love instant rice, so I made mine separatly and put the sauce on top. I chose to use the Seasoned Sliced Chicken too, because I wanted big chunks of meat for dinner.

The NEW Q
We've had some big changes come down the line regarding the Q. I wasn't so sure I loved the new Q when I got in there and started playing around with it. It really confused me for awhile and it's always hard to get use to something new. However, after watching all the tutorials and after making a mess of things, I think I've figured it out! I decided to make this training video to help you guys out. I made it without planning what I was going to say....so forgive the bloopers. I hope it helps clear up some things. If you still have questions that I haven't answered in the video, leave me a comment!

posted 03/27/2013 - FROM THRIVE LIFE
Updates to the Q Club and associated promotion were announced at convention. Starting on April 1st, the Q Club will no longer have different levels. All Q customers will either be on the Q (the equivalent of the previous Bronze level) or will be in the Q Club and receive full benefits. Q Club benefits will include first access to new products, gifts, Q-pons for discounted products, exclusive recipes, and reward points toward free product for every dollar you spend on the Q. The Q Club will have a starting fee of $79.99 and an annual fee of $19.99, which will be waived as long as the Q processes at least 11 shipments of $100 in product per year.
The new Q Club promotion will allow anyone who gets on the Q with at least $100 in product to have the $79.99 fee waived. The annual fee will also be waived as long as at least 11 shipments of $100 in product are made per year. This promotion will apply to all who sign up on the Q from April 1st on. Any Q Club member who is currently at silver membership level or above will be moved to the new Q Club with full benefits. These members will be grandfathered, meaning they will continue to have the annual fee waived if they complete the requirements from the former promotion (11 Q shipments per year).

Success from Mediocre Parties!
Mediocre Parties getting you down? Want to have HUGE parties with lots of Qs
sign-ups, and tons of people signing-up to become new consultants at your
parties like the Platinum’s do? Well,
guess what? They don’t have those kinds
of parties either! Is that
depressing? It shouldn’t be. Sherry Bower shared an “Ah-ha” moment with us
in one of her presentations. (And let's just say it was an ah-ha moment for me too!) After a
particularly bad party and after driving over an hour for that horrible
party, Sherry wanted to give up. She
started thinking, “Why do I keep doing this? This is a huge waste of my time and it’s not worth it.” Then she had the realization that her whole
business had been built on mediocre parties.
It was very rare that she had one of those HUGE parties that are more of a fluke than a reality. You know - those parties where someone comes up and asks, "Can I sign up for a $500 Q?" It was effort and
consistency that had built her business up!
(She was a Platinum at the time!
Yes, Platinums want to give up sometimes too!)
This thought lifted her spirits and she went to work. At this bummer party, only 4 people came. One of them was the host. Only one person signed up on the Q for $100 and the rest passed. What did Sherry
do after her ah-ha moment? She went home and picked up the
phone. She talked to every person that came
to the party and personally addressed their concerns. At the end of the 4 phone calls, she had 4
people on the Q and one new consultant.
Even though the party had not been successful, because of her effort,
she was able to make it successful!
That’s the difference between successful consultants and non-successful
consultants. One waits for the
opportunities to happen, the other makes them happen!
Go out there and don’t get beat down over mediocre
parties! Just be consistent and put
daily effort into your business and I promise
you’ll see success!

Listen, Acknowledge, and Offer!
“Do you want a drink of water?”
I was skeptical about whether I would learn anything new at
convention this year, since I already knew it all…ha, ha! I actually learned a ton! Some of the best advice I got was from a
class I took from Sherry Bower on how to finish strong. In other words, how to wrap up your party and
get the most orders for your time. She
presented a great example to us. First,
she said, “I’m really thirsty. I need a
glass of water. If anyone would like a
glass too, feel free to come up here and get it.” We happened to be in a class of about 100
people. Only one lady came up to get
water, and I think it was staged. She
then proceeded to say, “Out of all the people attending this class why did only
one person come up? Didn’t I ask you if
you wanted a drink of water? Why didn’t
you take the opportunity to get a drink when invited?” She related that to our parties. We often tell our guests about the great
benefits of the Q and invite them to try it, but how many do? Why?
We told them about it?
Now, what if we had bottled water sitting on everyone’s
chair and let them know they were welcome to drink the water if they’d
like? Would the odds be better that we’d
have people drink the water? Yes, the
odds would be better, but we would still have some that choose not to drink the
water because they don’t know how refreshing the water is. Do we explain to people why they want the
water? Do we say, “This water is so
refreshing and it’s so good for your body.
You have got to try this water!
Here, have some!” Or in other
words, do we tell people how the Q will bless their lives? Do we teach them how the Q will save them
money and time, help them eat more nutritiously, and help them be prepared in
the future? Do we show them how it has
blessed our lives and invited them to try it for 3 months?
Sometimes we try to push the Q on others by saying, “Here,
drink this water. You really need
it!” The problem is that people are
leery of what we are presenting them with.
The more we try to force it on them, the more they back away resisting. So always teach them about the Q by showing
them how it blesses your life and how it can help them! Listen to their concerns and address those
concerns. In fact, incorporate those concerns into your presentation! We have nothing to hide! We all had concerns when we first heard about the THRIVE products. Address them and solve them in your presentation!
Example: “When I first saw the prices of the food I
was taken back. I couldn’t see how doing
this was going to save my family money.
I was a crazy coupon lady with 5 kids. However, when I realized that I wouldn’t be
throwing away so much food and I wouldn’t be running to the grocery store with
my five kids, and I broke down the cost of individual items, I was shocked! This Q saved me time and money. Plus, my family loved eating it on a daily
basis!”
Sherry taught us these 3 rules, when closing a party and
talking to each potential customer:
Listen * Acknowledge * Offer
When someone shares a concern
with you, make sure to really listen to them.
Don’t ignore their concern by following up with a sales pitch.
Acknowledge their concern using the “feel,
felt, and found” technique. Then offer a solution to their concern!
Example: “I know how you feel! When I
first heard about the Q, I felt like I was
being sold into an auto-ship program that I would be trapped into. I didn’t want to be suckered into that
mistake. However, what I found was that I was only obligated to the Q for 3
months at the budget I set and I could completely edit my shipments to be
whatever items I wanted them to be.
Also, I could cancel after the 3 months with no obligation or fees. Then once I started the Q and realized how
amazing the food was, and how great it was to have my groceries come right to
my door, I actually increased my Q amount! Let's get you signed up to give it a try. You're only committed for 3 months and I know you'll love it!”
Here are some other concerns that I’ve had come up at
parties and how I address them:
Concern: I don’t have the money right now. My husband is laid off from work, but
hopefully I can do it another time.
(YES! I love this concern!)
My reply: Wow! I can see how that is really hard. My husband was once laid off for 10
months. In fact, that’s why I know how
important it is to have a home store! We
didn’t have a lot stored, but what we did have, we lived off of and it helped
save us money. I would love you to be
able to get some food, especially since your husband is laid off. What about hosting a party? Our hosts earn 10% of all sales from their
parties in free product. My average
party is about $1,000. That would be $100
in free stuff? How’s that sound? Would you also be interested in learning how
you can become a consultant? It’s a
great way to work from home and earn some extra money!”
Another important tip! NEVER LIE!!! Only use real experiences. People can see straight through a lie. You could say, “I know people that have gone
through that same experience and they have had this experience….”
Concern: I’m not
going to order right now. I need to run
this past my husband/wife first before I sign up on the Q.
My reply: I totally
understand! My husband and I have the
agreement that we don’t spend over $100 without consulting each other about it
first. However, remember that you aren’t spending any more money on groceries
then normal. You are just reallocating
your grocery money. I found that I saved
money and threw less food away. What
husband can argue with that?! Plus,
you’re only obligated to the Q for 3 months.
Another reply could be, what if you hosted a party at your
house? Then your husband can taste the
food and have me explain to him how it works?
Concern: I want to become a consultant, but I've tried that in other direct sale companies and have never had success.
My reply: "I hear what you're saying and I can totally relate. (feel) When I became a consultant, I joined just so I could earn free food storage and earn my rotational shelving at a discounted price. (felt) However, what I found was that the product sold it's self and I realized I was helping people save time and money, build a home store, and become self reliant! Also, because I already had a Q, I only had to purchase a consultant starter kit. It wasn't very expensive, and I figured that if I didn't have success selling the stuff, I could at least eat my kit! I love that the company doesn't require you to have any minimum orders to hit to stay a consultant either. I just have to have a Q going! I'd love to have you on my team and help train you to have the same success I'm having! It only takes a few minutes to sign up online. Will you join my team?"
So…LISTEN, ACKNOWLEGE, and OFFER! As consultants, we know how great this
product is! It should be our goal to have everyone from our parties join the
Q, become consultants, and host parties.
Go into your parties with that in mind, be honest, and teach them about
the Q, why they should host a party (double dip), and why becoming a consultant
could bless their life, and you will have success!
What are some concerns
that you’ve had come up at parties? How
have you addressed those concerns, or do you need help thinking of a way to
address that concern? Leave a post! Lets share with each other!

NEW- from Convention 2013!
Dear Team,
Heather Berge, Carolyn and Gordie Aegerter, and the newest memeber of my team Tammy Aegerter are all here with me at Convention...and we are having a BLAST! I sure wish the rest of my team had been able to make it to Convention! It's been a wealth of knowledge and it builds my enthusiasum for this business again! I know sometimes I feel like I want to give up, or just take a break for awhile, but listening to the motivational stories at convention build me back up and strengthen my resolve to succeed! Some of the most successful people here at convention are no different from you and me. They just had a good attitude about their business and put effort into their business daily!
New PATH Training Program launched! Hallelujah!

We can now refer our new consultants to the PATH program and help them train and have success! There are great incentives to motivate them to hit goals and to help them succeed within 90 days. Check it out soon! PATH is an acronym for: Prepare, Act, Teach, and Hone. I challenge my team to go through the PATH program, whether your old or new to this business. EVERYONE should study it out, refocus on their motivation to succeed, and help their team learn and succeed!
NEW SMART START KIT #2!
I love that they've given us a better Smart Start Kit. This one is full FD foods, and they've removed things like wheat, flour, sugar - that no one ever wanted. The new Smart Start will have a higher price tag - $200 a month for 3 months, but our customers will be getting 66 Thrive products, a booklet of 38 new recipes, a meal planner and shopping lists for easy meal prep! The new seasonings and sauces will be included in the kits! This new Smart Start should really help us in our Q sells and it makes me happy because on the old Smart Start, people didn't want to purchase things that they already had in their home - like the flour, sugar, and wheat. I hope to sell these like crazy!
Last of all and the BEST things I've seen today! A NEW Q program!
Don't worry...the old Q will still be around, but I encourage you to start - at this moment, selling the new Q program, and here's why:
Ok...it's 11:00 pm and my eyes are getting blurry. It's been a long day and I need to get to bed, but I wanted to get my team the updates...wherever you are! Love you all, and want to give you all a great big shout-out for helping me grow my business. As we all work together to help each other learn and progress, we can all succeed!

Some exciting news was announced today, and the 5 of us are ecstatic! You will be too! First of all, the BIGGEST news is that Shelf Reliance has changed their name to THRIVE Life! It is effective immediately. I wasn't so sure how I felt about this at first. I have business cards that say SR on them, and all of my supplies have the SR logo also. However, people are confused about our name and THRIVE Life really does embody the spirit of the company better. Don't worry though! SR understands and they don't care if we use up all our old materials for now to phase them out...however, by June 30th, it will be officially time to have all things converted over to the new name. More information regarding how this affects us can be found in the backoffice, under Thrive Life Rebranding FAQs. (It's not there yet, but I'll post a link as soon as it is!)
NEW PRODUCTS RELEASED!!!
Thrive FD Seasonings! Woo hoo! I'm so excited about these! They have a 25 year shelf life and are all natural and BEAUTIFUL looking!
- Parsley
- Cilantro
- Chives
- Basil
- Oregano
Thrive FD Seasoning Blends
- Salad Seasoning Blend
- Italian Seasoning Blend
- Chef's Choice Seasoning Blend (It's a seasoning salt...and my favorite one!)
- Peppercorn Seasoning Blend
New Sauces! These are all building block sauces that can be made into hundreds of different recipes...and we tasted them today! They were FABULOUS!!! I'm already excited to start cooking with them! I hate the names...I won't lie. Why they made them so complicated is beyond me, but they are good!
- Tomato Sauce (Italian seasoned tomato sauce that had endless possibilities!)
- Veloute Sauce (chicken gravy)
- Bechamel Sauce (white cream sauce)
- Espognole Sauce (savory beef gravy)

Don't worry...the old Q will still be around, but I encourage you to start - at this moment, selling the new Q program, and here's why:
- The new Q has no end dates. The Q keeps adding shipments based on the foods you choose. (It's a recipe based selecting process.)
- You can add foods by selecting THRIVE recipes you love - the Q will add all the ingredients needed for the recipe right into your Q! Or you can personally select each item - like before!
- You can add Food Rotational Systems and emergency products to your shipments! Whoo hoo!
- It's easier to navigate, add products, and manage shipments with the new look! (You can set a preference for all #10 cans or pantry size cans! Yay!)
- BEST PART EVER! No more Q-Club membership levels. There is only one requirement now, to be on the Q....you have to have your Q set at $100 every month. Anyone with a Q already set up will be grandfathered into the program at their Q Club level they are in now. However, all new Q members need to have Qs at $100.
*To update your Q to the NEW Q and start playing around with it go to: www.shelfreliance.com > make sure you're logged into your account > Click on The Q tab > Scroll down to the bottom left hand corner and click on Upgrade your Q!
NEW catalogs and order forms are out NOW - because of these changes. They also have a video on the Path program and some new PATH pamphlets too. You will LOVE the new order forms! I do!

Benefits of Becoming a Platinum Q-Club Member
You know those benefits on the back of the Q-Club Flyer under the Platinum membership level? Have you ever wondered how all those benefits work? Do you need to understand them better; in order to better explain them at your parties? Well, I'm going to break those down for you:
And that is the break down of the Platinum Q-Club Benefits. Comment if you have any questions for me!
-Cami
1.) Manage Shipments: Every Q is able to manage there shipments from www.shelfreliance.com. A customer just logs into their account using their email address and password. From there they can edit their Q, manage shipments, change their account settings, and more.
2.) Gifts: About every six months that a customer is on the Q, Shelf Reliance will send them a small gift to thank them for being a Q member. So far, I've received some measuring cups and a strainer, and a really nice SR can opener. These are always a fun surprise to receive with your Q!
3.) Exclusive Products: When a new product comes out, such as the new emergency gear that was just released, our Platinum members are the first ones that are able to purchase these items. They are not offered to the public for purchase for a few months. New food items can be added to their Q, but emergency items cannot. However, they will be able to view these items online and place an order for them, unlike the general public.
4.) Q-pons: Below is an example of this month's Q-pon. Q-pons are a highly discounted item that SR offers to all it's Platinum Q members. It is emailed to each member. Platinum members can add this discounted item into their Q, the month that it is offered, and they will get the Q-pon price!
* You can offer this special Q-pon price to all of your customers though. In order for them to receive the Q-pon price, they need to place an order through you, as their consultant. Just place a typical party order and add it to YOUR open party for the month!
5.) Exclusive Recipes: At the bottom of each Q-pon email, you will see that there is a recipe. This is the "exclusive recipe" that they are entitled to. This month (Feb 2013) it is the following:
6.) Reward Points: These are the BEST part of becoming a Platinum Q Member, in my opinion! For EVERY dollar a customer spends on their Q (less shipping) they get a point. These points accumulate and can be redeemed for FREE SR products. It can be used on anything! I just got a new Consolidator with mine a few weeks ago. Point out to your customers that this is like getting money back on their purchases!
Points can be redeemed once they total 500 points. (500 points = $15 in free product.)
If a customer needs help figuring out how to redeem their points, walk them through the following steps:
- Log into their account at www.thrivelife.com. Use their email and password to log in.
- Have them go to the top tool bar and click on "My Account." (It is in small letters under the main tabs at the top.) This brings them to their Account Dashboard.

Dear Platinum Q Club members,
Thank you for your membership in the Q Club! One of the exclusive benefits you receive as a Platinum Q Club member is shipping discounts, so we’d like to offer you a $10 shipping discount on an order in February!
This discount is redeemable on regular orders only (not Q orders), so it’s a great time to save on shipping for items like emergency supplies or FRS, or stock up on more THRIVE. The discount can be redeemed once between Feb. 1st and 28th by entering ********** as the coupon code for your order at checkout. Thank you for participating in the Q Club, and enjoy the discount!
