Homemade Instant Oatmeal Packets
Making your own Thrive Instant Oatmeal packets is easy... and much more healthy! I love that I know what is going into my kid's breakfast each morning, but more importantly, how much sugar is going into their breakfast! Showing your customers how easy it is to use Thrive freeze dried foods can really help you increase your sales and show how this product saves money and time. Not only is it more healthy... it saves money too! And we all know that's a good thing! (I used the snack sized baggies to make my packets.)
Quick Tip: Instant Oats are just regular whole rolled oats cut into smaller pieces. So if you only have regular whole oats, just place them in the blender and pulse a few times. Don't turn it into oat flour though! :)
Peaches & Cream
1/2 C Instant Oats
1 Tbsp. Thrive Instant Powdered Milk
2 tsp. brown sugar
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Handful of Thrive FD Peaches, broken up into smaller pieces
Strawberries & Cream
1/2 C Instant Oats
1 Tbsp. Thrive Instant Powdered Milk
2 tsp sugar
Handful of Thrive FD Strawberries
Apples and Cinnamon
1/2 C Instant Oats
1 Tbsp Thrive Instant Powdered Milk
2 tsp. Brown Sugar
Sprinkle of Cinnamon and a touch of Nutmeg
Handful of your favorite Thrive FD Apples. I love the Fuji, but they do have a skin.
The options are endless. My kids make all kinds of mixes using bananas, blueberries, and a mixture of all! Leave a comment if you make a great oatmeal using your favorite Thrive ingredients. I'd love to try it out!
** I was asked about how much water you should add to each packet....duh! Sorry, I forgot to add that important information. I usually add about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of boiling hot water. You have to let it sit for a bit longer then typical instant oatmeal because you want the fruit to get soft and the oats to get thickened. The water amount is all about personal preference though! :)
